Malay Heritage Centre + Shoppin SaYODA

Got home yesterday at 9.50 feeling super tired. And by 10pm, i was oredi on my bed. And slept all the way till 10.30 this morning. Niceeeeeeeeeeee. My much-anticipated sleep.

Anyways, yesterday was a pretty eventful day. (sorry, my vocab is limited)
I will break it down into 2 parts.
i) first day working at Malay Heritage Centre
ii) Shoppin with Sahidah.

i)
There are actually two shops at the Malay Heritage Centre itself which is located near Arab Street and Beach Road.
So from 10am - 1pm, i had to mend this small shop alone. Completely alone. Cuz my aunt was attending the bigger shop.
So there i was sitting and yawning. Super boring. And tt shop was like right in front of the museum entrance and everyone is speakin malay. so i spoke malay to the minute no. of customers. wuahuahuaha.

then tranferred to my aunt's shop. which is bigger and more spacious. customers okok...but okok la.

So there was actually this open theatre thing going on and there were plays regarding our myths and dikir barat and malay dance and the likes.

So i see those malay girls dancing to the malay rhythm and i was thinking "wow. they are so soft in their gestures and movements."

it reminded me of my malay dance performance for school concert when i was in pri.6. My teacher kept saying "lemah lembut lemah lembut" which meant "gently gently".

I guess i failed. and i wonder why. I started dancing since i was in kindergarten 2 and yep. weird. maybe i am not meant to do malay dance.

but for a moment, there was this strong sense of jealousy. as if they have a part of a traditional thing and i am barely nothing. And i wished i could dance like them. so gentle and so pure.

and being in the Malay Heritage Centre makes me feel belonged. I dunno why..juz like..."whoa. i have a culture so rich and so pure."

and that is good. cuz my other half...i practically know nothing abt the Chinese.

Moving on.

ii)
Met Sahidah at Orchard at 6.30 and whoa...she is so muscular. Her arms are like toned. Amazed i am.
So we were talking abt how we shud dress for Connect and where we can bargain for clothes and guess where we went?

youguessyouguesscorrectitellyou?

hint *May and Jy always say i belong there.

YESS!!

LUCKY PLAZA!

woohoo.

Now i know why they call it a Philipino hang out place.

So went from shop to shop and Sahidah was saying how we are practically the worst customers.

cuz it's like we go from shop to shop, browse thru the clothes, laugh at how some of the clothes are like tacky and then go out without buying anything.

MADNESS.

and in this one shop, there was actually this Ni Yao De Ai song playing and both of us were like singing to it. Bet the auntie muz be wondering, "eh...how come ah..."

wuahuahua. MADNESS.

So i got this top which is like..i dunno. not too bad but sahidah was going on and on abt how nice it is. so tt shall be my top for Connect. i think it is rather fanciful and i would feel overdressed but whatever la.

So we were circling the entire area cuz i wanted to eat Fried Rice and then we found this shop which sells cars and bikes miniatures. And Sahidah was like "OOOOOOOOOH! i have to get this i have to get this."

Apparently she has been finding tt bike miniature and she got it and she was like squealing and happy and then we went to eat pizza hut and then we were laughin at the couple beside us cuz they were super cheesy and then we went home.

Fingers. cramp.
